MSc, PGDip and PGCert study in Human Communication Sciences
Our Supporting Speech, Language and Literacy in Children and Young People course is aimed at speech and language therapists, teachers, SENCOs, SEN teaching assistants, psychologists, and other professionals who want to develop specialist knowledge and skills.
Supporting Speech, Language and Literacy in Children and Young People has been designed with flexibility in mind; the majority of our modules are optional, which means you can create your own unique pathway of specialisation in the areas of speech, language and literacy. You can also choose to complete your studies at a PGCert, PGDip or MSc level, with both full-time and part-time, distance learning routes available.
This course combines teaching from two courses previously run by the University - Speech Difficulties and Language and Communication Impairment in Children.
Many of the modules on this postgraduate programme can also be studied as standalone modules.
Speech and Language Therapy courses
We also offer a postgraduate course for people who want to become qualified speech and language therapists.
Students who are interested in training as a speech and language therapist may also be interested in our BMedSci undergraduate programme, BMedSci undergraduate programme with foundation year, or our BSc apprenticeship.
International scholarships
We offer a generous package of financial support for international students, including undergraduate and postgraduate taught scholarships towards the annual tuition fee. Applications are open for existing offer holders.
