Speech and language therapy degrees
Our accredited Speech and Language Therapy degrees are designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to support people with a wide range of communication issues, or difficulties with eating, drinking and swallowing.
Speech and language therapy degrees
We offer an undergraduate BMedSci Speech and Language Therapy course for students who are new to the University and an MMedSci course for students who already have an undergraduate degree.

Your career
Our courses are approved and accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. This means that, when you graduate, you can apply to register with the HCPC as a speech and language therapist.
Speech and language therapists are in high demand, and there are plenty of opportunities to specialise in areas such as mental health, stammering, hearing impairment, learning difficulties, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties, or neurological impairments.
Many of our graduates have gone on to successful careers within NHS trusts, schools, charities, private practices and the justice system. Others choose to go on to postgraduate study and research.
What our students say
We think our Speech and Language Therapy courses are pretty great but don't just take our word for it. Our undergraduate and postgraduate students have been telling us all about their experiences within the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery.
International scholarships
We offer a generous package of financial support for international students, including undergraduate and postgraduate taught scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee.
Applications are open for existing offer holders for programmes starting in autumn 2025.
