- Profile
-
Tim received a First Class Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering and a PhD in Composite Materials, both at the University of ºù«Ӱҵ and started working in the Composites Centre of the AMRC in 2011, initially as a Research Engineer before progressing to Technical Fellow. He enjoys the challenge of finding simple and practical ways to apply complex theories to make real world products.
- Research interests
-
Tim has interest in the full range of composite manufacturing and design processes across the full range of sectors, however the majority of his experience is within the aerospace sector. He takes a particular interest in curing processes and reducing the time and energy required from this stage of manufacturing and he wrote the CureAll cure optimisation software.
Recently he has become more interested in engineering and control software and in particular the opportunities created by Open Source, in particular with Model Based Systems Engineering and the 'Digital Thread' with regards to automatic optimisation of designs by simulation while including manufacturing constraints.
