Profile

Dhruv Gulabchande is a registered and chartered Architect based in London, UK. With eight years of professional practice experience, he is currently Architect, Associate Director and Research Lead at HFM Architects, leading multiple design-led public realm projects primarily within the retail sector.

Having studied at both Westminster and Greenwich, with each project he brings a narrative construct which ultimately influences his design work. His current focus is on the repurposing of vacant retail stock on regressing high streets.

He is former Assistant Tutor of Undergraduate Studio 99 at the University of Brighton, where he focussed on new mediums of storytelling through the lens of high rise, high-tech modes of expression.

Dhruv also leads Narrative Practice, an architectural mentoring, design and research platform with the stance that all spatial form is composed of social narrative. The studio aims to engage in architectural discourse through audio-series Chai Talks, provides worldwide complimentary tutoring through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and his current body of research work is based around the use of Grasshopper to promote Architecture within schools to increase diversity within the profession.
