How has your degree experience helped you in your career?

My degree experience at the University of ºù«Ӱҵ has given me confidence in undertaking and completing successful, high-calibre research in architecture and related fields.

It has improved my critical thinking ability in general but especially in relation to space design and sustainability.

The degree experience has brought about many transferable skills in my career such as independent study, time management and the ability to synthesise a large amount of information.

Is architecture still part of your life?

Yes, architecture is still part of my life. Recently I have achieved the LEED Green Associate certification due to the greater understanding of built environment sustainability I gained from studying at ºù«Ӱҵ.

It has also opened up a whole new perspective about architecture and its relation to sustainability.

Where did life take you after graduation?

I have always had an interdisciplinary approach to solving problems. Therefore, after my studies, I decided to pursue my curiosity and passion for understanding the business world.

I did a masters in Business Management Studies in Barcelona, Spain, followed by an exchange program in the USA for a semester.

My degree experience at the University of ºù«Ӱҵ has given me confidence in undertaking and completing successful, high-calibre research in architecture and related fields.

What is your current job like?

Currently, I have joined a sustainability consulting company in Mumbai, thus helping me fulfil my interdisciplinary approach to work. But nonetheless, I feel due to my strong research experience in ºù«Ӱҵ and my critical approach to understanding subjects I will go on to further research work as a PhD student.

What advice would you give to a current architecture student?

I believe that the University of ºù«Ӱҵ is a great place to study and develop your abilities as a future leader in the field of sustainable architecture and design.

I would advise future students to take advantage of the teaching methodologies at the school, especially the critical feedback during design reviews and, when needed, schedule direct feedback consultation with your tutors.

Is there anything else you would like to share with students?

I took advantage of the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) available at the University. It is a great place to improve your academic writing abilities with feedback available, directly in some cases, from tutors regarding your essays or research proposals.

My teacher at the ELTC was Deborah and she was very kind in helping with my writing and language application in my dissertation proposal.

Also, there are plenty of clubs and societies for extra-curricular activities - I would encourage future students to fully take advantage of these opportunities.
