The Faculty of Arts & Humanities (see our Schools) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an open day for prospective postdoctoral fellows on Wednesday 14 May 2025.  

ºù«Ӱҵ provides a highly supportive environment in which to develop your career and, as part of this open day, you will have the opportunity to:

• Learn more about the key postdoctoral fellowship funding schemes we support and receive any tips about the application process;
• Hear from existing postdoctoral fellows at ºù«Ӱҵ about their experiences;
• Learn about the support available for researcher development at ºù«Ӱҵ (including the concordat for research staff, mentoring schemes etc.);
• Learn about our research entities, facilities and services;
• Present your work as part of a workshop discussion, meet potential mentors and obtain feedback to support the development of your proposal.

Please note that attendance for this event is capped and subject to invitation, following the submission of an Expression of Interest (see process below). The open day will be hybrid- a combination of in-person and online- and we are now welcoming Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from prospective Fellowship candidates from the UK and overseas, who can build on our strengths and capacity in line with the Faculty’s research strategies. For applicants attending in-person, this open day will be catered, including lunch and refreshments but you will be expected to make your own travel arrangements.

If you are eligible and would like to apply to attend this open day, please send the following information to artsresearchhub@sheffield.ac.uk by Friday 21 March 2025 (17:00 GMT):

1. A completed (this includes a list of potential external funding schemes to apply to)
2. A 2-page max CV
3. A signed  

Please note that if any of the information above is not provided, we won’t be able to proceed with your interest in attending the open day. Preference will be given to candidates who have already selected and/ or held discussions with a prospective mentor.
