Microbiologist Professor Simon Foster has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Professor Foster, whose work looks at understanding and tackling the global challenge of antimicrobial and antibiotic resistance, was one of 59 scientists to be elected to the Academy this year in recognition of exceptional contributions to the advancement of biomedical and health science, cutting edge research discoveries, and translating developments into benefits for patients and wider society.
Professor Foster, from the School of Biosciences, said: 鈥淚 am truly delighted and honoured to have been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Such external recognition is a testament to the efforts of all the excellent people that I have been privileged to work with over the years.鈥
