Biographical sketch
I completed my PhD in the protein and nucleic acid biochemistry lab at ºù«Ӱҵ where my work involved studying the mechanism of DNA methylation.
My project involved exploring the structure and function relationship of bacterial cytosine specific DNA methyltransferases.
Following my PhD research I subsequently worked as postdoctoral research associate and focused my research work on cytochrome P450 C17. My further postdoctoral training established my expertise in Tap-tag protein purification system using yeast as model organism.
My role
I have developed my skills in teaching and training molecular biology laboratory techniques. My current role in the School of Biosciences is working as Course Director for MSc "Molecular Biology and Biotechnology". This work involves working as an admission coordinator as well as many other administrative and teaching assignments. I mainly teach a practical laboratory course during autumn semester and supervise various research projects during spring semester under different themes. In addition I also work as deputy PGT tutor for providing pastoral support to PGT students in the School of Biosciences.
