Event details

Friday 28 March 2025 - 9:30am to 12:00pm
Description
Organising Care, Labour and Employment is identified as an area of particular strength and interest across the University. CIRCLE is keen to consider how it can bring together, support and enhance a theme in this area, including through opportunities for new collaborations, impact, and career development.
Dr Diane Burns, Co-I ESRC Centre for Care and Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies in the Management School, invites colleagues to map our disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research interests in these thematic areas and start planning research collaborations.
The remit of the theme is open to all colleagues with research interests in any aspect of organising, labour and employment in social care and related health settings. This may include, but is not limited to, research or activity concerning:
- the organising effect of social structures (e.g. economy and finance, law, regulation, policy, cultural norms etc.);
- processes (e.g. building and service design, organisational culture and change, digital technologies, management systems and work roles, power, conflict and politics and interconnected activities);
- dynamics (e.g. workplace identities, emotions, behaviours, practices) of care relationships, people, services, systems.
If you are unable to attend the workshop but have an interest in the theme, please complete this form so we can inform you of any upcoming events or opportunities.
