Profile

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 2004 with a bachelors of science in chemical engineering.

I completed my Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010, using small-angle scattering to measure the thermodynamics of block copolymer blends.

I procured a Junior Research Fellowship at Imperial College London (2011–2014) to pursue the development of block copolymer–based plastic solar cells and my website on polymer science, , was launched in 2015.

I was appointed as lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland from 2016–2018, moving to the University of ��«Ӱҵ in 2019. I co-led the Faraday Institution FutureCat Consortium from 2019–2023 and remain an active member.

Research interests

My research applies the principles of polymer physics to develop commercially relevant products and processes. My research team optimises formulations for products ranging from lithium-ion batteries to chemotherapy drugs. Controlling the properties of blends at the nano- and micro-scale enables us to reliably scale-up the manufacture of products.
