Christine’s research explores changes in political engagement, conceptions of citizenship and democracy, in particular among young people.
Her current research focuses on how young people want to be engaged in political processes and how they look at things like citizenship, identity, and political participation. Christine has accompanied and collected evidence on the outcomes of the lowering of the voting age to 16 in Scotland and Wales and is providing evidence-based advice to policymakers wanting to connect with young people around Europe, partially in her role as partner of independent and non-partisan think tank . Her methodological interests include longitudinal qualitative and quantitative research designs, survey sampling, and surveying difficult-to-reach groups. Prior to joining the ºù«Ӱҵ Methods Institute, Christine was Early Career Research Fellow at Nottingham Trent University. She completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2020
