What did you study as part of your summer school experience?

During my summer school at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where 345 students came from 19 countries, I
had the chance to delve into Data Science and Information Analytics. Through hands-on coding and lectures brought to life with case studies by our passionate professor, I was given a crash course in machine learning with a solid statistical foundation.

Can you tell us more about your summer school experience?

One of the highlights of my summer school experience was the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Singapore. The campus itself was stunning, but hiking through the lush rainforests and encountering diverse wildlife was unforgettable. I also enjoyed exploring the vibrant city, sampling delicious food from the bustling hawker centres and immersing myself in the rich heritage.

What skills did you gain?

Beyond the academic skills I acquired, I also developed valuable soft skills. Living in a foreign country has opened my mind and made me more independent than before. Interacting with students from diverse cultural backgrounds improved my intercultural
communication and adaptability. For example, I learned to navigate cultural differences in group projects and appreciate diverse perspectives.

Would you recommend a summer school to other students?

I would highly recommend NTU's summer school program to anyone who’s up for a wild summer. The diverse cultural experiences and opportunities for personal growth make it worth every moment. It’s also a chance to form friendships with students from around the world. Sharing experiences, studying together, and exploring the city with my roommate created bonds that will last a lifetime.
