GPRG present at 2014 Ineson Lecture Meeting

Dr Steve Thornton gave an invited presentation on the topic of Natural attenuation of petroleum fuel hydrocarbons and oxygenate compounds in the Chalk aquifer

This presentation was a multidisciplinary approach for performance assessment at the 2014 Ineson Lecture: Hydrocarbon Threats to Groundwater, hosted jointly on 6 October by the International Association of Hydrogeologists – British Chapter and the Hydrogeological Group of the Geological Society, at Burlington House in London, home of the Geological Society.

This prestigious and well-known event honours outstanding scientific contributions in the field of hydrogeology made by guest lecturers. This year, the Ineson lecturer was Prof Jim Barker of the University of Waterloo in Canada, who gave a stimulating presentation on the theme of Hydrocarbon impacts to groundwater resources to over 100 delegates.
