Why did you choose to study at ºù«Ӱҵ?
I really liked the atmosphere on campus on the open day and everyone, in both the Uni and the city, was so friendly and welcoming. I also really liked the course content and thought the range of available modules sounded so interesting!
Has your experience so far been what you expected?
While last year was a bit different and unexpected due to Covid, I've really enjoyed being able to get properly involved in Uni life this year now that everything is open again!
What do you particularly enjoy about your degree programme?
I really like the different perspectives of the modules - not just learning about events in the option modules but also methodology and historiography modules, as well as the second year document module focused on primary sources, which I've found so interesting.
What modules are you studying this year? Are there any modules that you have particularly enjoyed during your degree so far and why?
This year I am really enjoying being able to tailor my modules to my interests more, and one I'm particularly enjoying this semester is 'Gender and the Georgians' as I find gender history fascinating and its so interesting looking at all the different debates and perspectives, as well as uncovering stories about figures that I haven't heard of before.
What do you like about the University/living in ºù«Ӱҵ?
I really love living in the city, as there are so many hidden shops and cafés to explore – even after a year here I’m still finding new places to go to. I also love that its so close to so many other cities, as well as the peaks being right on the doorstep!
