Ed did his BA in Philosophy at Manchester Metropolitan University and his MA in Philosophy at ºù«Ӱҵ. His main research interests are philosophy of mind, philosophy of emotion, epistemology and philosophy of action.

Ed’s research is focused on developing a philosophical account of worry, with a view to determining the conditions under which worry is rational or irrational. In particular, his thesis explores the idea that many cases of irrational worry can be considered to exhibit 'weakness of will'. He is also interested in the rational status of the emotions in a more general sense.
