Dan Goodley joined a panel of Australian academics at a symposium hosted by REDI at Deakin University on 21st February 2019.

Drawing on findings from the ESRC Living life to the fullest project and a new paper written by Dan, Rebecca Lawthom, Kirsty Liddiard and Katherine Runswick Cole (‘Provocations for Critical Disability Studies’ to be published in the journal Disability Studies in Education).

A number of questions were asked of critical disability studies researchers including;

  • How inclusive is critical disability studies?
  • What is the purpose of theory?
  • How might we attend to the study of ability and disability?

Dan was joined by  (Deakin University),  (Editor in Chief JDSE; University of South Australia), Alfred Deakin  AM (Deakin University) and Dr Ben Whitburn (Deakin University).
