Teaching interests

I currently teach two undergraduate modules: In Information Systems and Information Society students explore the concept of asymmetry of information and its applications in everyday life; building on their personal experience of using the Internet and social media students also examine networked society phenomena and the implications for relationship development at both individual and societal levels. In the Information Management in the Digital Economy module I cover electronic commerce business models and consumer information systems.

I also coordinate two postgraduate modules E-business and E-Commerce and Information Systems in Organisations. E-Business and E-Commerce focuses on both concept and practice. The module has received funding from White Rose Centre for Enterprise and from Knowledge Transfer to develop the curriculum by engaging industry experts. The content is continually updated each year to ensure that the module is up to date and covers key issues in the digital economy.

Given my research background and interest I teach Information Systems in Organisations module with a particular focus on a socio-technical tradition and emphasize the importance of social organization in the management of information systems.
