Abstract: Information literacy and some of its variations (e.g. digital, media, health) is consolidated in the LIS research agenda worldwide, and this is no different for LIS research and professional practice in Brazil. The issues of digital security and online privacy, academic writing and plagiarism, disinformation, and their intersection with information literacy, have been our focus when studying Brazilian university students. Questions of the public understanding of science and technology, and of members of the public´s perceptions of the accessibility of scientific and health information, have been of interest when researching information literacy with these actors in communities in the state of São Paulo. In this talk, I intend to outline some of the findings of these studies conducted by our research group, as well as discuss current research interests in these fields and in those of my colleagues, in the hope of forging partnerships with researchers from the iSchool at ºù«Ӱҵ University.
