- Profile
-
I completed my engineering training at the University of Cape Town in South African and spent the first part of my career working in Blast and Impact protection as well as the Centre for Materials Engineering.
I am interested in the deformation of materials at high strain rates under blast and impact loading conditions and the transient deformation of structures under these extreme loading conditions. I am particularly interested in the application on non contact measurement techniques such as Digital Image Correlation (DIC) in these environments due to the dense datasets we can generate during experiments.
- Research interests
-
My research interests predominantly surround the response of structures to dynamic loading and include imaging tools such as Digital Image Correlation which are utilised in these extreme conditions to better understand the loading and deformation of structures exposed to these loads.
