- Profile
-
I am a Lecturer in Sustainable Transport in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.
I am a member of the Leonardo Centre for Tribology at the university and prior to this, I was a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Functional Surfaces at the University of Leeds and a Research Engineer at the University of 葫芦影业 AMRC.
I hold a PhD in Tribology from the University of Leeds and I am a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. My research focuses on understanding how the tribochemical interactions between lubricant additives and a surface affects the friction and wear behaviour of components and most recently this has involved understanding the effects of electrification on lubricant performance and formation mechanisms.
- Research interests
-
My research focuses on the broader areas of tribology, surface engineering and lubrication and predominantly on automotive, aerospace and machining applications.
Research interests:
- Tribology and tribochemistry of advanced materials and lubricants
- Sustainable lubricant additives
- Effects of electrification on tribochemical interactions
- Alternative cutting fluid technology
- Advanced coatings for component durability
- Effects of coatings and lubricants on hydrogen embrittlement
