- Profile
-
I am a bioengineer by training, graduating with a BEng (Hons) first class and a minor in Economics from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
I completed my PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London, and my thesis won the runners’ up prize for the JRI Best Medical Engineering PhD from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
I then spent time as a postdoctoral research associate at UCL/Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, University of ºù«Ӱҵ and Singapore-ETH Centre (ETH Singapore), before taking up my current position.
I have developed innovative methodologies and predictive models to understand implant success/failure, assess fracture risk across diverse populations, and to optimise treatment interventions in orthopaedic diseases.
My work has won several awards including the Insigneo Post Doc Bridging Fund and the British Orthopaedic Research Society (BORS) Young Investigators’ Award.
- Research interests
-
My research interests include multiscale modelling of musculoskeletal tissues in response to novel biomaterials, and optimisation of implant designs and treatment interventions for orthopaedic diseases, in collaboration with other academic, clinical and industrial partners.
I use a multidisciplinary approach that combines imaging, mechanical testing, biological experiments and computational (hybrid mechanistic-artificial intelligence) modelling.
