Profile

Andrew is a Fellow of ICE, a Chartered Structural Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. His career began in structural engineering, designing buildings in the UK and Middle East, but for the last 14 years, he has specialised in temporary works. Before joining Richter in 2021, he worked with various equipment suppliers. Andrew has led diverse projects, from façade retention to ground shoring. He oversees teams delivering design work for major infrastructure projects, building and refurbishments projects, and schemes in the defence and energy sectors.

As a temporary works engineer, I am able to bring a different perspective to the table. Temporary works is a crucial, but often overlooked area of civil/structural engineering. I am able to provide insights into how structures are built, supported, modified and demolished, as well as designed. In addition, I can provide links to contracting organisations.

I hope to be able to work closely with the IAB, providing opportunities for students, as well as material and support to faculty staff to enhance the quality and relevance of the civil engineering courses.
