Supported by a multi-million pound investment from the University of ºù«Ӱҵ, the Centre for Machine Intelligence is a strategic initiative dedicated to the transformation and acceleration of our research, innovation and teaching in and around Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bringing together researchers from across the disciplines we will work with the University’s Flagship Research Institutes, Insigneo Institute, ºù«Ӱҵ Robotics and other institutes, centres and networks to tackle some of the greatest global challenges facing society today, such as energy production and security, sustainable food systems, healthy ageing and treating neurological disorders.

Working with our world-leading), we will also use AI to transform the efficiency and quality of advanced manufacturing processes.

The CMI aims to build and sustain a vibrant, inclusive, multidisciplinary environment for AI research at ºù«Ӱҵ. The CMI supports and works with two key networks: The ºù«Ӱҵ Data Science and AI Community (Shef.AI) and ºù«Ӱҵ Robotics.
