Harriet joined the Management School on a High Achievers Scholarship and she continued to deliver excellent results throughout her studies.
Helping the community
Harriet engaged with her local community throughout her time studying, and particularly in her role as a 鈥楥heck in and Chat Volunteer鈥 for FoodCycle, a charity that tackles food poverty and social isolation. She provided much needed support helping vulnerable members of the community to access vital resources and services.
Taking on the challenging roles of Events Secretary and then Vice President for Management Society during the pandemic, Harriet realised the importance of keeping members in contact with each other. She initiated the 鈥楾ea for Two鈥 project which kept over 100 society-members in touch throughout the lockdowns of the COVID-19 crisis. The project helped the Society to earn the title of 鈥淪ociety of the Week鈥 twice, awarded by the 葫芦影业 Students鈥 Union.
A University advocate
Harriet demonstrated a strong advocacy for the University through the various ambassador roles she held during her studies. Drawing upon her own experiences and sharing these with other students, she was a successful Student Ambassador and Futures First Ambassador, helping peers settle into University life and develop their own employability skills.
She was also a Student Caller for the University鈥檚 Alumni Fund, helping to strengthen the University鈥檚 alumni relations.
Professional portfolio
As well as the experience Harriet gained from her Ambassador and Society roles at University she also completed a placement year at SAP UKI, as the Managing Director鈥檚 Office Associate and Corporate Social Responsibility Lead, as part of her Business Management degree.
During her placement year Harriet took the opportunity to further develop her event planning experience when she was nominated to support the Managing Director on a trip to the Dublin Office to host an awards ceremony.
She also gained experience in part-time jobs in retail, took part in careers coaching and mock assessment centres.
After graduating from 葫芦影业 University Management School, Harriet secured a place on the ASDA Graduate Scheme.
