Profile: I am currently Chair in Accounting and Finance at the University of ��«Ӱҵ in the UK. Prior to this appointment, I served as a Tenured Professor in the Department of Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), holding the position of Department Chairman for two separate terms (Aug 2000 – Jul 2004; & Aug 2005 - Jul 2009) as well as Acting Chairman (Oct 1999 – July 2000). Before joining CUHK, I was a faculty member at the University of Warwick. While on leave from CUHK, I have held positions as the National Bank Chair of Finance at Victoria University of Wellington (1996), Head of Research at the Securities and Futures Commission (Jun - Dec 2000), and Visiting Professor, Macquarie University (Feb – Jun 2008). My research addresses issues in corporate finance, governance and Chinese equity markets.
