As Programme Director of International Business Management (IBM), my role is to support and equip you through your studies here at ºù«Ӱҵ and abroad. In order to do that effectively I am also the Personal Tutor for IBM students and, with my colleague Dan Hector, your Programme Administrator, we meet frequently with you, including holding social events. I am able to provide advice and guidance on issues that concern you. In order to go abroad for your second year, you need to meet some specific academic requirements and to have participated fully in all the IBM activities, starting with an interesting field trip in your Welcome Week. The selection process in the autumn to match your aspirations with a suitable university abroad includes an interview, which we help you to prepare for. On your return from your year abroad you will have a document with grades from the university you visited, and my role then is to translate those grades into ones that match our requirements here in ºù«Ӱҵ. I can also assist you in your thinking about applying for a paid placement year after your year abroad, something that many students find really rewarding and can enhance your employability potential.

I very much look forward to meeting you in Welcome Week, when I will be getting to know you and explaining what your first year will be like. There is an interesting field trip during Welcome Week which we think you will enjoy. The key to success on this programme is participation in all the events and hard work but I will be there to help you.
