Each year, ICE Publishing celebrates the best work published in their journals at the ICE Publishing Awards. They award authors from both industry and academia who have produced work judged by their peers to be of exceptional quality and benefit to the civil engineering, construction and materials science community.
The winner of this year’s Coopers Hill War Memorial Prize is 'Vehicle-based cryogenic rail cleaning: an alternative solution to ‘leaves on the line’ by Peter Krier, Ben T White, Paul Ferriday, Mike Watson, Luke Buckley-Johnstone, Roger Lewis and Joseph L Lanigan, researchers within our Department.
An original and clearly written report of industry-funded field research into the real-world effectiveness of a small road-to-rail vehicle fitted with an innovative cryogenic rail cleaning system. It is a great example of collaboration between industry and academia to deliver practical research-based infrastructure solutions.
