After a long career in high-performance computing, John chose to study the MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience course to pursue his interest in how the brains of animals and humans perform complex computational tasks using very small amounts of energy. John is now continuing the research as a PhD student in the department.

Jake studied BEng Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering at ºù«Ӱҵ before choosing to pursue the MSc Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience. His training on the course covers the whole spectrum of approaches to answer questions about how the brain works and following graduation he hopes to pursue a PhD in this field.
