ºù«Ӱҵ the fellowships

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships are a prestigious and well funded scheme. You can appy for either the European Fellowship or Global Fellowship.

European fellowships

These fellowships are open to researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from another part of the world to pursue their research career.

Key details

  • The fellowship lasts between one and two years.
  • It takes place in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country (including the UK).
  • Researchers of any nationality can apply but you must not have resided or worked in the host country (UK) for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the call deadline.

Global fellowships

These fellowships fund the mobility of researchers outside Europe.

Key details

  • The fellowship lasts between two to three years.
  • The first one to two years is spent in a non-associated Third Country. This is followed by a mandatory return phase of one year to an organisation based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country (including the UK).
  • Only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries can apply.

Eligibility

  • Applicants should have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications.
  • You must have a maximum of eight years' experience in research from the date of the award of your PhD degree. Years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum.
  • For European fellowships, researchers of any nationality may apply, but you must not have resided or worked in the host country (UK) for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the call deadline.
  • For global fellowships, only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries (including the UK) can apply.
