I started teaching German Language in 2001. I chose this profession because I enjoy working in an international environment and conveying my love of languages to others.
Before coming to the University of ºù«Ӱҵ, I taught German Language to American Students taking part in the USAC-programme at the University of Lüneburg. I was also a German Teacher for refugees and active for the TestDaF-Institute.
As part of my studies in North-American Literature, I wrote my MA-Thesis on 'Magic Realism and Canadian West Coast Fiction'. In addition I studied Slavonic Languages and Cultures as well as Sociology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. I gained a qualification in Teaching German as a Second Language from the University of Bonn.
During my Year Abroad at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and as a Teaching assistant at Kent College, Canterbury, I improved my English language skills. My other languages are Turkish, Russian, Czech and French.
My teaching has taken me to many interesting places. I was a teaching assistant and tutor at Kent College, Canterbury. I taught English at Linyi Modern School in Linyi, China. Together with the Goethe-Institute Beijing and publishing companies in Germany, my colleague and me introduced a German Department at this school.
For nearly ten years I was a lecturer for German at the International Office of the University of Bonn. I taught German to Erasmus students, post-graduates and visiting scientists at all levels of the CEFR (A1-C2). I also taught German Culture and History classes, in English and German.
