- Profile
-
I joined ScHARR in 2014 as a Research Associate in the Public Health section working on the Yorkshire Health Study through the CLAHRC YH Public Health and Inequalities Theme. Since then I have worked on a number of research projects in the areas of housing, child health, health care service delivery and social prescribing. My research interests include evaluations of complex interventions which seek to reduce health inequalities, particularly in relation to the impact of housing related issues on vulnerable populations. For example, I was recently PI to a NIHR SPHR funded evaluation of a housing intervention in two local hospitals.
Before joining ScHARR I completed an MSc in Public Health and Health Related Research at Newcastle University and worked as a Research Assistant in the Institute of Health and Society on a qualitative project on the impact of the Bedroom Tax on health and well-being in one of the most deprived areas in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

My research interests lie in the interaction between socioeconomic, cultural and behavioural factors and health inequalities, particularly in the case of residents of deprived communities. I have a particular interest in the impact of welfare reform and housing on vulnerable populations.
