In recognition of this, we are pleased to announce the results of the annual Early Career Researcher Prize Scheme for 2020. The remit of this prize is to reward excellence as an early career researcher in any of the four categories: Research, Teaching, Leadership and Wider Participation.

The applications in this year鈥檚 round were to a very high standard. However, we are delighted to announce the following winners;

Dr Noemie Hamilton (IICD) for excellence in research, teaching and leadership. Supported by Dr Steven Reynolds and Prof Stephen Renshaw.

鈥淚t feels great to be recognised by the faculty during these difficult and uncertain times. The work that came out from my fellowship identified for the first time how a rare white matter disease might start during brain development. I will use this prize to disseminate my research to clinicians caring for those patients in order to more forward onto therapy development and testing in my model鈥

Dr Luke Green (IICD) for excellence in research teaching, leadership and wider engagement. Supported by Dr Jonathan Shaw and Professor Pete Monk.

鈥淚 am thrilled to receive this award and particularly appreciate receiving faculty recognition in these challenging times. This recognition will be hugely beneficial in progressing the next steps of my career鈥

Dr Alanna Green (O&M) for excellence in research. Supported by Professor Thomas Helleday and Dr Andrew Chantry:

鈥淚 am really excited and honoured to receive the Faculty ECR prize, and feel grateful to be a part of such a thriving research community鈥

Dr Rachel Waller (Neuroscience) for excellence in research teaching, leadership and wider engagement. Supported by Prof Stephen Warton and Dr Julie Simpson.
