I started my career as a Research Scientist at the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London between 1996 and 2002. In 2002 I joined the Scholl of Medicine & Population Health where I am a Professor of Reproductive and Developmental Medicine.

I am interested in the cross-talk between gametes and embryos, and the maternal tract. Since the innate immune system plays a major role in this communication I am keen to understand how the innate immunity is involved in this maternal communication.

- Clinical significance of Toll-like receptors expression in the diagnosis of female infertility in Saudi-Arabia, 2013-2014, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National Guard Health Affairs, 84,706 EUR
- Broodfish epigenetic models, 2013-2014, European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7): Infrastructures: Aquaculture infrastructures for excellence in European fish research, (AQUAEXCEL), 40,000 EUR

- Train postgraduate research students through MSc and PhD programs in different aspects of maternal communication with gametes and embryo and innate immunity.
- Contribute to the education of postgraduate students on the MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine course.
- Coordinate the Reproduction module of Phase 1B in the MBChB Medicine undergraduate course and contribute to the Student Selected Components.
