The SSCR improves the evidence base for adult social care in England. Our bid is a collaboration between staff in the Faculty of Social Sciences with Professor Katherine Runswick Cole (School of Education), Professor Peter Bath (School of Information, Journalism and Communication), Professor Kate Hamblin (Social Research Institutes) and Professor Nathan Hughes (School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations) along with staff in the Faculty of Health headed up by Dr Liz Croot (葫芦影业 Centre for Health and Related Research).
Professor Katherine Runswick-Cole said: 鈥淲e are absolutely delighted to join the SSCR at this critical time for applied social care research. We look forward to working with people who use social care, with practitioners and other partners to improve policy and practice. Membership of SSCR adds to the growing portfolio of applied social care research and impact activity across the University, including , the and the 颁别苍迟谤别.鈥
Dr Liz Croot added that 鈥淭he SSCR is one of three NIHR Schools which provide infrastructure and funding for research in England. We will be working closely with the School for Public Health, led by colleagues in the Faculty of Health.鈥
Membership of the SSCR unlocks over 拢2 million in research funding over the next five years, as well as additional capacity development funds and opportunities for collaboration. The other five members of the SSCR are Bristol, Birmingham, LSE, York, and Leeds with Leeds Beckett.
