Inside a bookshop

We invite expressions of interest for an event at the ºù«Ӱҵ Political Economy Research Institute (SPERI), ‘Postdocs in Political Economy: incubator workshop’ on the afternoon of 27 February 2025 at the University of ºù«Ӱҵ, in person (exact time and location tbc). The event is open to postgraduate and early-career researchers within and beyond the University of ºù«Ӱҵ, and we particularly encourage those interested in being hosted for a postdoc at SPERI / University of ºù«Ӱҵ to attend. Please share this call with potentially interested early-career colleagues.

The workshop will provide information about key postdoctoral funding schemes for early-career political economists, what makes a strong and successful application, and workshop your ideas for postdoctoral research projects with the support of peers and senior academics. We will be joined by research support professionals, as well as academic colleagues from SPERI and the wider University who will support participants by demystifying the postdoctoral landscape and application process, and offering feedback on proposed projects.

If you are interested in attending, please fill in . The deadline for expressing interest is 10th January 2025, and outcomes will be communicated to applicants by 17th January 2025.

There is no need to have a fully-formed project proposal, but some indication of your future research interests is important to ensure your work is relevant to political economy and that we can provide the right support. There may be a small amount of funding support available to colleagues who do not have access to their own research support funds to attend the workshop. Places are limited and if the workshop is oversubscribed, places will be allocated on the basis of relevance to key debates in political economy and ensuring a diversity of people and research areas are represented.
