Jamie Peck is Canada Research Chair in Urban & Regional Political Economy, Distinguished University Scholar, and Professor of Geography at the University of British Columbia, and a Global Professorial Fellow at Western Sydney University’s Institute for Culture and Society.
Professor Peck is an institutional political economist, working on a range of issues relating to economic geography, urban restructuring, labour regulation, and contemporary statecraft. His research program has been primarily concerned with the ways in which ostensibly global processes—for example, forms of market-oriented governance (a.k.a. neoliberalization)—are (re)made through local sites, extended networks, and grounded practices. His current research is focused on political and economic transformations in .
