The QAA is an independent body which monitors and advises on standards and quality in higher education. They lead the development of Subject Benchmark Statements which describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. They show what graduates might reasonably be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies.

This year there are 14 subject statements being reviewed including Computing and we are delighted that Dr Emma Norling is now part of the advisory group. Dr Norling is the Director of Learning and Teaching for the Department of Computer Science.

I am extremely pleased to be able to work as part of a team to review the Subject Benchmark Statement for Computing. The aim is to ensure that we maintain the high standards we would expect from our graduates, and I look forward to bringing my experience to this.
