Engineering and the City of ºù«Ӱҵ have a long rich history. In fact, the University has been actively involved in World-leading and exciting research for over a 100 years and is now one of the biggest and best Engineering Faculties in the UK!

The Faculty of Engineering provides dedicated teaching spaces, workrooms, computing facilities and specialist laboratories to support your research. Our strong links with industry mean that in many research areas you will also directly benefit from industry input.

If you choose to study with us you will have access to comprehensive personal and career development training through our Doctoral Development Programme, whilst opportunities and experience in teaching are available through our Graduate Teaching Assistant scheme.

Cutting-edge facilities

We pride ourselves on maintaining high-quality, cutting-edge, facilities. The Diamond building houses a range of activities including a 24 hour MakerSpace (iForge), and you’ll find top-class subject-specific facilities throughout the Faculty.

Whether it’s signing up as one of our Graduate Teaching Assistants, getting involved in Outreach activities, or joining one of our many clubs and societies, we actively encourage you to broaden your horizons outside of your PhD.
