After obtaining a PhD in jetstream variability (University of ºù«Ӱҵ), Richard worked as a research associate at the University of Lincoln (North Atlantic climate variability and seasonal forecasting), the University of Bristol (understanding the impacts of Sudden Stratospheric Warmings) and Imperial College London (Oyashio front variability and the atmospheric response), before returning to ºù«Ӱҵ to investigate Antarctic climate change.
