What I like most about living and studying in ºù«Ӱҵ is the 'we are international' slogan. This city is super friendly and welcoming to students as it's a very multi-cultural city. It’s nice and cosy and really easy to walk around. Public transport isn’t really needed in your daily life. You can walk around the city and explore new places. Also, ºù«Ӱҵ is fairly cheap compared to where my other friends are studying elsewhere in the UK.

I live in student accommodation near the main University campus. Everything is located close-by and it’s all very open, so there’s no feeling of restriction. Walking around you can sense that ºù«Ӱҵ is designed for you to learn, study and live. I love that people walk around chatting and laughing during the ‘uni rush hour’. It makes the city feel more alive!

I joined the Student's Union media outlet - Forge TV - taking on the role of Marketing Coordinator. I joined because I wanted to learn new skills relating to videography, editing and filmingI also took part in a study skills workshop at the 301 centre during my foundation year. I learned about essay writing skills which helped me progress from my old way of writing to the UK university style.

BA Journalism Studies students get to go out and speak to people on the street as part of their course. That unexpected communication has been great fun! I’m really into the multi-media elements of my course, too, including broadcasting and videography. We are shown how to operate a radio booth and are tasked with going out and finding our own stories, contacting different sources and filming our own footage. It’s so exciting to see what you end up with after working so hard on a project. You really feel that you‘ve achieved something great!
