Overview
Studying abroad can be both exciting and stressful.
To help you settle in and adjust to life in the UK, the International Student Success programme is a free online resource with practical guidance and support for all new international students.
The programme is developed by Epigeum (part of SAGE Publishing) in collaboration with the University of ºù«Ӱҵ and aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and understanding that are central to preparing for, and adjusting to, university life in the UK.
It provides support and guidance on overcoming key barriers to success in your journey toward becoming a global citizen.
What you'll learn
The programme has four modules including:
- Preparing for student life in the UK
- Culture: Adapting and managing expectations
- Effective communication
- Looking after yourself and finding support
The modules are packed full of practical tips, real student voices, and myth-busting exercises.
To ensure the most accurate alignment to your needs, this programme also includes information and advice specific to students studying at the University of ºù«Ӱҵ.
Look out for the ‘Info@ºù«Ӱҵ’ pod while you are going through the modules. Here you will find lots of useful resources to help you familiarise yourself with the support available at the University.
Assessment
For each module in the programme, there is an associated self-assessment test each containing eight questions
- If you score six or more questions correctly on the test you will achieve a milestone.
- If you achieve all four milestones, you will get a digital certificate of completion of the programme issued by the University.
The tests and the certificate are optional. You can work through the programme in its entirety, or select modules according to your particular needs.

The programme is available to all international students joining the University of ºù«Ӱҵ.
