 - Associate Professor of Obesity and Public Health

ºù«Ӱҵ Hallam University 

Dr Catherine Homer is an Associate Professor of Public Health and Obesity and Lead of the Healthy and Active ‎‎100 theme for ºù«Ӱҵ Hallam University’s Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre. She has 20+ years' ‎practice experience as a Public Health Specialist in an NHS Trust and Local Authority, where she led ‎the obesity portfolio and commissioning of children’s and adults weight management services. ‎Catherine is Co-I / PI on research grants worth over £7.4m and is currently joint PI on a £1.5m NIHR ‎HSDR funded evaluation of NHS England Complications of Excess Weight Clinics . Dr Homer’s other ‎interests include research capacity development.‎

Evaluation of body measurement methods for children

 - Research Fellow in Advanced Human Measurement

ºù«Ӱҵ Hallam University 

Dr Alice Bullas is a Senior Research Fellow & UKRI Future Leaders Fellow in advanced human body measurement, specialising in manual and 3D surface imaging anthropometry, in the Sports Engineering Research Group (SERG) of the Academy of Sport and Physical Activity at ºù«Ӱҵ Hallam University (SHU). Alice's work uses 3D surface imaging to critically evaluate existing anthropometric methods, measures and standards across health and sport, specifically to identify the most accurate and suitable anthropometrics through which to assess factors (adiposity and health) causally associated with obesity in children. Within this presentation Alice will outline the background to her UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, intended methods and ambitions with this project.
