Over 100 speech and language therapists (SLTs) and SLT students from across 葫芦影业 and the wider region attended the day at the University of 葫芦影业. The event brought SLTs together to celebrate the profession, share research and practice, understand the vision of the RCSLT in shaping the future SLT profession and being resilient in meeting the challenges ahead.
Morning speakers included Derek Munn, Director of Policy and Public Affairs, RCSLT, Bryony Simpson, Associate Dean, Heath Education England and Professor Pam Enderby, University of 葫芦影业 and Trustee of RCSLT.
In the afternoon, SLTs connected and collaborated in sharing exemplars of excellent practice and research. Mark Jayes, SLT in the 葫芦影业 Adult Service presented his research about assessing mental capacity. Anna Westaway, SLT in the 葫芦影业 Children鈥檚 Services shared her recent MSc about accessible information for children with communication difficulties.
Helen Cameron and Lucy Dyson from the department of HCS shared their experiences of completing a PhD and encouraged SLTs to engage in research.
The day received really positive feedback with attendees keen to attend future events of this kind.
