Jack spent his placement year at the UK Health Security Agency and during this time, he began to lead a working lab, having progressed to this position over the year. By the end of his placement, he became in charge of running certain stages of the PCR process. This experience showed Jack that working in a lab after graduation is the right route for him.

Emily spent her Year in Industry at pharmaceutical giant, Roche, working as an Associate Statistical Programmer in early phase clinical trials. During her placement, Emily visualised data to enable a range of stakeholders to assess whether a drug is safe and effective, ultimately contributing to the drug development process.

Katherine Sanders

From ºù«Ӱҵ, to setting up the lab side of the Oxford/ AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trials

Katherine Sanders BSc Biomedical Science

Katherine started working at the Oxford Vaccine Group shortly after graduation, putting her skills and knowledge into practice helping to set up and deliver paediatrics vaccine clinical trials. It was this Group that led the monumental effort to deliver the Oxford/ AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trial which resulted in the vaccine being deployed globally to protect against the SARS-COV2 virus and Katherine became a key part of his work.

International undergraduate scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international undergraduate students, including scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee (worth up to £40,000 for four-year programmes).

Applications are open for existing offer holders for an undergraduate degree programme starting in autumn 2025.
