My research is collaborative and often involves mental health services with the aim to generate practice-based evidence for student mental health interventions. I particularly enjoy working with practitioners and service users with the goal to improve mental health outcomes for students. I supervise research projects concerning these topics across undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels.

Teaching activities

Research supervision: I supervise research dissertations in the Department of Psychology across the undergraduate and master’s programmes as well as systematic reviews for master’s students. These projects involve quantitative and qualitative research methods to characterise student mental health needs and their outcomes from clinical interventions.

Teaching: I teach pilot and feasibility trial design on the master’s research methods module and I am the module organiser for the Professional Skills module on the master’s degree programme. This module includes topics such as open science, pre-registration, and publishing.

External teaching: I am part of the supervisory teams for external PhD candidates at the University of York and University College London. These projects explore access gaps for students who approach psychological services in the NHS and develop a peer-led intervention to promote help-seeking for mental health support among university students.
